The Art of Betty and Veronica

The Art of Betty and VeronicaThe Art of Betty and Veronica by Victor Gorelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Art of Betty and Veronica chronicles the evolution of B&V from the 1940s to today.

On the heels of reading The Art of Archie: The Covers, I snagged this at a tremendous discount from the Archie store during one of their many sales. Totally worth it.

The Art of Betty and Veronica is divided into decades. There is a text piece for each decade as well as one or two stories and reproductions of original art, complete with masking tape and white out visible. It's a nice time capsule of the various periods of Archie's history as well as that of America itself since Archie jumped on any trend that walked by, from hot pants to bell bottoms to leg warmers.

There's not a lot else to tell. I don't see how this would appeal to Archie fans but fans of the eternal love triangle between Archie, Betty, and whatshername will love it. Four out of five stars.
