I buy single issues of new comics about once a year. When I saw this pop up on Twitter, I knew I had to have it, which led to me dropping about forty bucks on Archie books on the Archie Website.
The story is a fun all-ages Archie tale. The Archies are broken up but Archie still wants to do a show with his favorite band, the B-52s. Unexpectedly, it's the B-52s who wind up doing all the legwork in a shocking plot twist. Dan Parent brings the classic Dan DeCarlo Archie style in full force while still using more modern panel arrangements and angles and such. The B-52s look great drawn Archie style.
While Archie takes neither Betty nor Veronica to the Love Shack, Archie Meets the B-52s is my favorite crossover since Archie Meets Batman '66. Four out of five Rock Lobsters.
