She's Josie collects stories from She's Josie issues 1-9.
Josie and the Pussycats rank just behind Sabrina the Teenage Witch as my favorite non-Archie Archie characters so I pre-ordered this one from the Archie web store.
The art is Dan DeCarlo throughout so it's a treat for the eyes. As for the stories, it's weird/interesting seeing Josie not in a band. She's still hanging with Melody but Pepper, Albert, and Sock take the place of Valerie and Alan M. The Cabots look completely different than the later do after they regenerate into their final forms. Hell, Alexander is even a rival for Josie's affection.
I found it interesting that the stories are a lot of multi-parters instead of the usual Archie eight pagers. Also interesting is how music started creeping into the stories at the end of this volume, even though it would be a few years before the book become Josie and the Pussycats.
She's Josie is a must for fans of Josie who need to see what she was like before the formation of the Pussycats. Four out of five stars.
