Doctor Strange (1974) #8

Doctor Strange (1974) #8
date: June 1975
writer: Steve Englehart
artists: Gene Colan, Tom Palmer
rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Clea saves the weakened Doctor Strange's bacon and appeals to her father for help. He refuses and Clea and Strange perform a pagan ritual in an attempt to restore Stephen's power. Clea winds up with the power and goes toe to toe with her father. Strange's power is restored and the story ends with Dormammu crawling out of a crack in the earth.

Englehart's depiction of drug culture and his portrayal of Clea as a competent woman were years ahead of their time.  I'm warming up to Gene Colan's art.  His depiction of the Mindless Ones and Dormammu's demons were very good.  I'm pretty excited about seeing how all this shakes out.  3.5 out of 5 stars.
